Currently, when a store is closed, such as is currently the case with the Legacy Place store in Dedham, MA, it is very difficult to distinguish that the store is not open for business. Specifically, the App simply states "closed" in small greyed-out font. Worse, the map feature shows a pin for the closed location that is identical to the pins used for open locations. This confusion caused me to waste a couple of hours driving to a closed retail store. I would suggest that when an Apple retail store is closed that the app make this extra clear perhaps by using a bolder red font and a map icon that is different than the pin used for open stores...perhaps a darkened "X".
The employee emerges a few minutes later with the iPad and I hand over my credit card. If you’ve never been to an Apple store before, instead of checking customers out at a register, the employees use hand-held credit card terminals to ring up purchases. Adds to the hip factor, I suppose.
